Disclusion Time Reduction

7-8 September 2019;  Sydney NSW

Evaluating and Treating TMD

Do you have patients suffering from TMD symptoms? Jaw pain, neck pain, teeth grinding, headaches, facial pain and muscle problems? Are they struggling with everyday life trying to manage their pain? Does it affect their quality of life? How do you evaluate patients to see if you can help? Then how do you treat them?

How can you use DTR in your clinic?

Patients who benefit from DTR with symptom relief are patients with headaches, migraines, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Meniere’s

Disease, Cervical Dystonia, Phantom Bite. DTR is a TMD therapy that does not depend on patient compliance for it to work. Beyond

this the concepts for DTR will benefit all of your implant, cosmetic, removable, orthodontic, and full mouth cases all the way to simple fillings and new patient screenings. DTR principles go beyond TMD cases.

Join Dr Ben Sutter in Sydney

DTR Therapy uses the T-Scan digital occlusal analysis system and BioEMG, a surface electromyography unit to measure the impact of excursive movements on the occlusal plane.

The goal is to identify contacts that may be overly engaging during excursive movements, a problem that can lead to hyperactive muscles, breakage, and TMD symptoms.

The clinician evaluates the time it takes for posterior teeth to disengage during excursive movements and correlates the occlusal data to muscle activity in real time. Take the guesswork out. Use latest technology to make adjustments.

During these sessions, you’ll learn a minimally invasive way to diagnose and treat patients experiencing TMD signs and symptoms through occlusal management.

Dr Sutter is a world leader in DTR and will present his knowledge and approach through this hands-on workshop.

During this course participants will:

  • Learn principles and practice of Disclusion
    Time Reduction.
  • Evaluate and diagnose clinical DTR cases
  • Gain skills interpreting data with hands-on clinical demonstrations for occlusal analysis
  • Watch demonstrations using live patient treatment scenarios
  • Assess when to, and when not to, treat patients with DTR
  • Formulate how DTR can be applied to other areas of dentistry
